Lead Free Water Program

DPU is working on securing grant funding to replace old water lines in our neighborhood at no cost to residents. To get Ginter Park Terrace on the priority list for these new pipes, we need every neighbor to identify their pipe material.

Start by checking your address on the RVA Lead-Free Water Map. If your status is “Unknown,” you can use the DIY Guide to check it yourself in 10 minutes, or call a professional from the DPU Preferred Plumber List for a free inspection. Reporting your results ensures our neighborhood receives these vital health and safety upgrades.

Code Refresh

The City of Richmond is currently rewriting its zoning rules for the first time since the 1970s. This project, called the Code Refresh, will change the “rules” for what can be built on different pieces of land. The goal is to make our neighborhoods more walkable and to allow for a wider variety of housing types (like duplexes or small apartments) to make Richmond more affordable and equitable.

Because this will affect property rules across the city, we encourage all neighbors to see how the new maps might impact our blocks.

GRTC Pulse Expansion

GRTC is planning a second Pulse bus rapid transit line to connect the Northside directly to the Southside. This new line is expected to run along Chamberlayne Avenue, which is just west of our neighborhood.
